Phoenix @ Terenure College September 2nd 2022

On the final match of the 2022 season, the Walnut Taverners welcomed Phoenix CC to the college.

Batting first Phoenix totalled 105 with wickets from Mark and Paddy Senior checking the progress of the visitors, who had some big hitters in their ranks. Steady bowling from Josh, Tom, captain Eddie and guests Eoin and David also aided the Walnuts' performance while Eddie's astute field placings proved crucial in our endeavours.

An earlier deluge slowed the wicket but the Walnut batters thrived in the conditions. Not out 20s from Peadar, Garret, Josh and Eoin saw us over the line as we knocked off the runs for the loss of zero wickets. Phoenix bowled well but the Walnut Taverners were up to the task. Peadar continued his run of hitting 6s with no less than two more in his innings and another sumptious straight drive into the tennis courts.

We would like to thank Phoenix CC for our annual fixture and we look forward to visiting the Phoenix Park next summer.
