Greystones @ Terenure College August 11th 2023

Greystones made the Friday afternoon trip north to face the Walnuts in Terenure. In a closely fought, but great natured game, our gracious visitors from Co. Wicklow prevailed. The pitch played true and firm throughout the evening and was a great testament to Philliip's hard work. 
The Walnuts set the stage batting first, and eventually reached 89 runs. Key contributions came from opener Mike with 25 runs, and a swashbuckling 20 from man of the match, Sean. Peter from Greystones bowled with great accuracy and picked up two wickets in the process. 

Responding to the challenge the Walnuts displayed remarkable determination with both their bowling and fielding efforts. Greystones chased down the low total with just an over to spare.

Peter and Walter batted with high skill for Greystones, all while their captain, DC, offered spirited encouragement from the sidelines.

Martin bowled and fielded brilliantly securing a wicket in the process, while Gerry and Colin were also wicket takers on the evening.  

Afterwards a thoroughly enjoyable night was had in the bar with special thanks to sandwich maestros Phillip and Brian. DC. and his Greystones side regaled us with tales of their season and their upcoming tour to Nottingham and Birmingham. 

Best wishes for the tour lads and we look forward to meeting up again next summer.
