Under the Walnut tree in Terenure College, on a warm sultry summer evening, North Kildare spun their way to victory against a valiant effort from the Walnut Taverners.

Batting first the Walnuts only mustered 91 runs, with an array of talented spinners who restricted the Walnuts run flow. This was despite double figure scores from every batter who faced more than one over:- Damian, Garret, Josh, Liam and John while Frank and Gerry were not out seeing the innings home.

In reply North Kildare chased down the Walnuts total despite wickets from Damian and Mark who stemmed their progress. In fact the Walnuts continued their excellent form in the field which has been on show all summer.

Afterwards both sides retired to the rugby club for beer and food as the Walnuts extended a warm welcome to their Kilcock based visitors. As always in this fixture we are very grateful to North Kildare for making the trip to Dublin 6W and we look forward to resuming our contest next summer.
